Dr. Rabindra Nepal completed his PhD in Economics as a James-Watt PhD Scholar under the Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics. Prior to joining the Charles Darwin University, Dr Nepal worked as a Vice Chancellors Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Economics at the University of Queensland. Dr. Nepal has also previously worked as a Research Associate in Energy Economics and Policy for the SESAME project co-funded by the European Commission. Dr Nepal also spent a year studying Economics at the University of Oklahoma, USA during his PhD. He has also held a research stay at the Energy Policy Research Group based within the Faculty of Economics at the University of Cambridge, UK. Dr Nepal has advised international organizations like the World Bank, European Commission, the Northern Irish Utility Regulator and the German Federal Network Agency in the past. His main research areas include energy economics and policy, industrial organization of electricity and gas markets and environmental economics and policy. He also remains interested in development economics and policy. He has published widely in international peer-reviewed journals.
