Welcome to the Development Policy Research Network (DPRN) – a platform that seeks to connect academic scholars from various disciplines, policymakers, and social workers from around the world to explore various dimensions of policy issues in a developing country context with primary focus on India. Modern governments are reaching out to the wider community for expertise to cater to the developmental needs at the grass-root level as well as to make better-informed and efficient policies at the national or regional level. As a response, a platform where practitioners from various disciplines across countries can exchange their thoughts, share experiences and knowledge, and possibly work together to provide solutions to high priority policy problems is most warranted. DPRN has been established on the 5th of September 2015, to serve the purpose.
DPRN will attempt to enhance mutual learning, coordinate research collaborations, engage in contemporary policy debates, and facilitate knowledge dissemination. DPRN’s primary mission is to contribute to the improvement of the lives of thousands of underprivileged people in developing world through quantitative policy research built on solid foundations from economic theory and making policy recommendations. DPRN also organises events to educate young researchers in cutting-edge analytical tools for policy analysis, and communicate research findings to a range of audiences. We invite experienced as well as early-career research scholars, doctoral students, policy analysts and practitioners to join the forum.
